Albany Kindergarten

Philosophy

At Albany Kindergarten, we strive to make learning irresistible.

Kindergarten is a fun, exciting place. We value child initiated investigation, experimentation and creative expression.

We trust(whakapono) children to make decisions and to be independent. We encourage children to be problem solvers and investigators, to know themselves and to lead their own learning.

We treasure their unique gifts, curiosities, passions and potential that each child brings to our kindergarten community.

It is important to take time to listen to children. We respect their views, individuality and foster this through thoughtful responsive communication.

As teachers, we are committed and passionate about providing quality education. We see our professional growth and development as a means of insuring a high standard of teaching. We continue to challenge ourselves in an ever-evolving profession.

As teachers, we are committed to the principles and articles of Te tiriti o Waitangi and reflect the dual heritage of Aotearoa through our programmes, documentation and practices.

We acknowledge the vital and precious information that whanau hold about their child's interests and dispositions. At Albany Kindergarten we celebrate the cultural identity of all children and their families.

We value the wealth of knowledge that our families offer to our kindergarten whanau and value this partnership.
