We are looking for a keen, energetic teacher who loves 3-4 year olds to join our fabulous Torbay Kindergarten teaching team. We already have a great team of part time teachers and the Head Teacher. This person would be a great support to the Head Teacher and gain considerable benefit from her leadership.

Torbay kindergarten on the North Shore has attractive wide spaces – the usual (swings, sandpit, grass, climbing equipment) but also a garden area, verandah and covered outdoors. Inside is a hive of activity with an emphasis on art as well as ample floor space for blocks, trains, projects and more. Children are very much in charge of their own learning and teachers are fully engaged with following and supporting their learning with provocations and conversations.

Torbay Kindergarten has an exceptional reputation in the community and is well supported in all its community events and the regular excursions to the beach.

The children attend 8.30am - 2.30pm with the younger age group on Thursdays and Fridays and older children Monday to Wednesday.

Teachers enjoy excellent working conditions under the Kindergarten Teachers Collective Agreement (KTCA) (8am – 4.30pm, 6 weeks annual leave, 3 weeks professional time, generous non-contact time) along with the security of being part of the supportive Northern Auckland Kindergarten Association.

0.8 FTE Teacher (32 hrs per week), Maternity Cover for 2019 - Rangitoto Kindergarten

32 hours per week, Monday to Friday  

We are looking for an energetic, fun-loving professional teacher to join the great team at Rangitoto Kindergarten for 2019.

Rangitoto Kindergarten has a well-established place in the heart of its community, a spacious, varied environment and a passionate and talented team of teachers. Children attend between the hours of 8.30am - 2.30pm in 2 groups M, T, Th and W & F. Older children are involved in Bush Kindergarten each week in a local wild area. The Kindergarten is involved in providing many events that build an amazing community spirit.

Teachers experience excellent working conditions under the Kindergarten Teachers Collective Agreement (KTCA) (8am – 4.30pm FTE [0.8 is less hours of course], 6 weeks annual leave, 3 weeks professional time, generous non-contact time) and have the security of being part of a supportive Association. Oaktree Kindergarten in Browns Bay is seeking a teacher to join our amazing team of 4 others in a 0.675 (27 hours) part-time 5- day a week position.

I HAVE A PRIMARY TEACHING QUALIFICATION, CAN I WORK AS A KINDERGARTEN TEACHER?

You need to have a recognised early childhood education qualification and be a registered teacher to be permanently employed by us. Teachers with a primary teaching qualification will need to undertake the one-year Graduate programme to work for us.   

CAN I WORK FOR NORTHERN AUCKLAND KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION IF I HAVE AN OVERSEAS QUALIFICATION?

Your qualification needs to be assessed by the NZ Qualifications Authority and approved by the Education Council for registration as a teacher. Once you receive registration status you would be eligible to apply for permanent positions with us. Teaching positions are advertised in the Education Gazette which is published fortnightly and on our website.
