An Overview of Government funding
The primary form of government funding for our kindergartens is the ECE funding subsidy. This contributes to our costs by paying for part of each hour each child spends in kindergarten to a maximum of 6 hours per day/30 hours per week. This subsidy does not meet the full cost of kindergarten as the government expects the costs to be shared with parents.
The 20 ECE hours is a higher rate of funding for teacher led services (such as kindergartens) that provide free early childhood education to three, four and five year olds for up to maximum of six hours per child per day and 20 hours per week.
