Our Kindergartens
Due to the demand for kindergarten places, it is likely your child will initially be placed on a waiting list, therefore the best time to enrol your child at kindergarten is when he/she is two years old. Although most of our kindergartens aim to take children from when they turn three, the actual starting age will differ from kindergarten to kindergarten depending on demand, so it is best to check with individual kindergartens regarding when your child is likely to start.
You can enrol your child in the kindergarten of your choice, as the association's kindergartens are not zoned. However to ensure the smooth transition from kindergarten to primary school for your child, we encourage parents to choose the kindergarten closest to where your child will be attending school.
All our kindergartens offer early childhood education services, facilities and resources well beyond the "regulated standard" allowed for by the government's "20 Hours" policy. To allow us to continue to provide this consistently high standard of quality early childhood education, we ask for your contribution of a 50c per hour donation.
Children can start kindergarten from around 3 years of age. Some kindergartens offer the more traditional sessional model where a child attends three afternoons a week, for 2 ½ hours. As close to their 4th birthday as possible, they move to the mornings which run five days a week for 3 - 4 hours. Other kindergartens operate a 'kindergarten day' model which is a combination of 4 hour (mornings) or 6 hour sessions Monday to Friday.
Pre-enrolment visits are welcome, so for more information please phone the kindergarten to arrange to drop in, meet the teachers and look around the kindergarten of your choice.
