A playground worth exploring

Oaktree Kindergarten was opened in 1985. We have a wonderful playground that was totally re-developed in 2005. The new playground is easily supervised and equipped with a large sandpit, climbing equipment, soft fall zones and a generous swing frame. This equipment provides a stimulating environment for children's play and discovery.

In 2009 the building extensions were completed. This gave us a larger office, larger storeroom, refreshed kitchen and wheelchair access and adult toilet with wash down facilities to meet the regulations.

Oaktree Kindergarten now offers a wonderful environment that supports children's development and learning.

Time Capsule 2011

One child's fascination with pirates led our kindergarten to preserve our children's treasures in a time capsule that will remain buried for 24 years.  The children became very excited and soon the playground was alive with both good and evil pirates, treasure that needed to be found, and jewels collected at home to share at kindergarten.  The time capsule was made by grounds man Roger and over the course of several weeks each child collected a piece of treasure to include.  On the 14th of December 2011 we gathered together to bury the time capsule in the kindergarten grounds, not to be opened until 2035, the kindergarten's 50th anniversary year.
