For Parents

We have an open door policy at our Kindergarten - you are most welcome to share time at Kindergarten with your child/children and the teaching team. Family is an important part of kindergarten life and there are many opportunities for you to share in the programme, attend family and community events. We value your participation in our learning programme.
Some parents chose to spend a lot of time at kindergarten and are involved at many levels while others are less involved - the choice is yours!
Settling your child into Kindergarten:
When your child is due to start kindergarten you are welcome to pop in to visit and become familiar with the kindergarten. You will be shown around by one of the teachers and given an information pack.
Settling your child into kindergarten is very much an individual process. We recommend that you stay with your child if possible for the first or part of the first session. Some children are happy to be left straight away - for others it is a longer process and we will support you and your child through this. We hold a 'new parent" get-togethers which provides us with the opportunity to get to know each other and answer any questions you might have.
Our Kindergarten Committee
Rangitoto Kindergarten has great support from parents and the local community. We have been very fortunate in having a strong and thriving Committee. The Committee is made up of a group of interested parents. It provides a great opportunity to form friendships, become involved in your child's education and support the kindergarten.
The committee organises fundraising and social events throughout the year (children's disco, trike-a-thon...) supports the teachers and function of the kindergarten. Meetings are monthly and new members are always welcome!
