Kindergarten Information

We are licensed to cater for 80 children in two fixed day sessions. 40 children start in our Group 1 days Thursday and Friday 8:30am - 1:00pm both days and progress through to our Group 2 days of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 8:30am - 2:30pm when children leave to attend school to maintain the roll of 40 on these days.

The number of families on our roll is 80.

9:00am to 11:00am Monday, Wednesday & Friday
12:30pm - 2:30pm Tuesday & Thursday

Kindergarten Hours & Sessions

Silverdale Kindergarten operates a Kindergarten day model. Our days and times are:

Group 1:
Thursday and Friday - 2 days 4½ hours each (9hrs/week) 8:30am - 1:00pm both days
Group 2:
Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday - 3 days 6 hours each (18hrs/week) - 8:30am - 2:30pm

When your child starts with us it will be in the Group 1 days and then they will progress to our Group 2 days.

We ask you to please adhere to these times carefully

TERM 1, 2012 - 31^st January – 5^th April

TERM 2, 2012 - 23^rd April – 29^th June

TERM 3, 2012 - 16^th July – 28^th September

TERM 4, 2012 - 15^th October – 21^st December

Enrolling your child at Silverdale Kindergarten

Your child needs to be enrolled on the kindergarten waiting list on or around their 2nd birthday. The kindergarten is not zoned so children can be enrolled from any area around the kindergarten. You just need to fill out a form to put your child on the waiting list. Please feel free to visit us during term time for more information and a tour. You will be notified when your child’s starting date is getting close and invited to the kindergarten to visit and complete forms. These forms will include Attestation (20 ECE hours), Cybersafety agreement, and our ‘getting to know you’ information sheet. Also at this stage we will need to sight a copy of your child's immunisation records and if arriving from overseas a copy of the passport / residency records.

Schools

Our children generally go on to attend Silverdale School, Red Beach School, Orewa School, Wainui School, Waitoki School, Dairy Flat School and Stanmore Bay School however due to kindergartens having no zoning regulations all the schools in the area will receive children that have attended Silverdale Kindergarten.
